Accomodation on the Tay meikleour House

  • Booking
Bookings are subject to a minimum of three nights. Outside of special events, the price for 2017 is £2,200 including VAT for three nights, with each additional night at £315 including VAT. 50% of the total payable is due on booking, with the balance due six weeks before arrival. No refunds will be given in the event of a cancellation.

  • Damage Deposit
A damage deposit of £500 is payable along with the balance for the accommodation six weeks before arrival. This will be repaid within four weeks of your stay, providing no damage has occurred.

  • Arrival & Departure
The house is available from 17:00 on the day of arrival. Please vacate it by 10:00 on the day of departure. You will be met at the house and given a key. Please remember to leave the key in the house at the end of your stay.

  • Housekeeping
A daily housekeeping service is included. This will be for two hours and will not involve changing sheets and towels. If this is requested, an additional charge will be made.

  • Catering
The accommodation is provided on a self-catering basis. However, if you require a cook for some or all of your stay, we can arrange for one for you at an additional cost to be paid directly to the cook. There is also a self-contained flat within the East Wing that can accommodate your cook if you chose to arrange one directly.

  • Fire safety
The front door is the fire exit and is clearly signed. The assembly point is the car park, next to the garages. Please keep all fire doors closed.

  • Pets
No dogs (or any other pets) are allowed in the house. If you have brought a dog with you (to sleep in your car), please keep it on a lead at all times when walking it (we have cats and free range chickens). Please pick up any deposits it makes.

  • Smoking
It is against the law to smoke in places of work in Scotland. This applies to the house and so there must be no smoking at all times, even when the cook and housekeeper are out of the house.

  • Open fires
You are welcome to use the open fire in the sitting room. Please keep the fire curtains closed at all times, even when you are in the room. All other fireplaces are decorative only and are not operational and must not be used.

  • Grounds
Do visit the beautiful woodland garden beyond the end of the front lawn on the right. To access it please use the path along the East of the lawn. We would be grateful if you would close the gates and padlocks behind you – the battle against rabbits and deer is endless

  • Tennis court
Please feel free to use the tennis court. If you need equipment, ask at the office. Please use appropriate soft soled shoes.

  • Telephone
To make an outgoing call, first dial 9, and wait for normal dial tone. All calls will be charged.

  • Internet
There is a wireless access point in the study (through the laundry) and in the sitting room. You may also be able to pick up a signal in other parts of the house.
